Job Description
We’re looking for a motivated and skilled Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale solar PV projects across the UK. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safety, quality, and cost-efficiency while working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and senior leadership. As part of our SAS Energy team within EDF Power Solutions, you’ll help shape the future of renewable energy.
This is your opportunity to guide transformative projects that accelerate the UK’s journey to net zero. You’ll be joining a supportive, inclusive team committed to making a meaningful impact. With projects nationwide, you’ll need to be available for weekly travel and overnight stays—but your home base can be anywhere in the UK.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
This is a competitive salary range. If you’re looking to join a company where you can work hard, have fun, and help to create a Net Zero future – then you’re in the right place. Our passion for embracing new ideas and being open-minded to change helps us continue to grow successfully.
We’re committed to helping all of our people thrive during their time with us, recognising and rewarding every person for their hard work and commitment.
Alongside a competitive salary, bonus, and market-leading pension scheme, we offer a range of flexible benefits and employee discounts to help you thrive across all aspects of your life. You can spend your flexible fund on the benefits that matter to you, whether that’s an electric vehicle, private healthcare, additional holiday or one or more of our other benefits.
We’ll offer you the flexibility, freedom and responsibility to make an impact in your role; whether that’s on-site, in the office or hybrid working from home.
We’re committed to championing diversity representation across gender, ethnicity, LGBT+, disability and more. This applies to all our roles, underpinned by our Everyone’s Welcome inclusion programme.
We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll act as a key connector between clients, stakeholders, and internal teams—ensuring each project is delivered smoothly and safely. You’ll prepare essential documentation, coordinate logistics, and uphold health and safety standards throughout the build.
Working closely with design and project teams, you’ll help shape construction plans, secure resources, and select contractors who align with our values. You’ll oversee site setup, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with regulations and client expectations.
You’ll also champion environmental responsibility, maintain site standards, and ensure subcontractors meet safety and competency requirements. From commissioning to handover, you’ll guide each project to successful completion with care and precision.
What Do You Need to Be Great at This Role?
You’ll typically bring 10+ years of experience in construction management, ideally with exposure to solar PV projects. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent experience—is essential, along with CITB SMSTS certification and a CSCS Black Card. Additional qualifications like PMP are a welcome bonus.
You’ll be proficient in construction management software and familiar with regulatory documentation and compliance. Experience with Dash Pivot, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and other project tools will help you stay organised and effective.
Most importantly, you’ll be an inclusive leader and communicator—able to collaborate, resolve challenges, and bring people together to deliver exceptional results.
