Then come and join our team as Global EcoDesign & Life Cycle Assessment Expert (f/m/d) to drive Siemens Healthineers Sustainable Product strategy.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You ensure that the regulatory requirements and standards relevant to the design of sustainable products are met. Moreover, you drive the application of eco-design principles, including energy efficiency, packaging, batteries, and chemical composition requirements
  • You collaborate with our R&D teams and other technical specialists and stakeholders in the business to develop design requirements in line with environmental regulatory requirements and relevant standards
  • You manage the implementation of the proposed EcoDesign Regulation, taking into account how this interacts with other key regulatory frameworks like REACH, RoHS, Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation, EU Taxonomy, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive
  • You are responsible for the re-design planning, for example to meet changing regulatory requirements like the RoHS exemption phase out
  • You collaborate with our regulatory and policy experts to monitor and respond to regulatory changes as well as to global trends and indicators coming from customers, investors, NGOs and the public
  • You coordinate our company representatives in trade association environmental working groups in Europe and participate as necessary
  • You ensure energy efficiency and sustainability reporting requirements

Your qualifications and experience

  • You have a university degree in the field of Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences or comparable
  • You have many years of professional experience in product related ecodesign requirements such as the EcoDesign Directive and in analyzing regulations against impact, detailed requirements and ways to comply
  • Additional qualifications in Sustainability or Management are considered a plus
  • You are very skilled in working with R&D and other technical stakeholders to implement design requirements, and Lifecycle Assessment
  • You are very proficient as a representative in industry-associations and in liaising with regulators and authorities
  • You have very profound experience in the electronics industry, preferably in the Medical Device Sector and in leading and supporting global teams and initiatives across functions and business areas
  • You are very skilled in working within EHS Management Systems and Standards

Your attributes and skills

  • You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in English; additional German knowledge is considered an advantage
  • You are passionate about sustainability / environmental protection with the ability to persuade and engage others by being emphatic, trustworthy, integer and interculturally sensitive
  • You possess proven analytical and critical thinking skills, creativity, problem solving, and implementation skills as well as a strong skillset for strategy development and deployment
  • You have the ability to guide and develop cross-functional (virtual) teams and enjoy working in a dynamic environment
