Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a QA/Qc who has extensive experience working on large scale HV electrical infrastructure/construction projects or preferably within the renewable energy sector.
The positions are project roles which are site-based FIFO roles from Brisbane to remote northern Queensland on a 10:4 roster. The is a fixed term position for 3 years.

About the Role
As the Quality Assurance lead you will be the key quality representative of the project and be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including coordination, performance, and execution of construction inspection services for our project.
You will be responsible for assuring that the quality of the work performed by Windlab and/or its subcontractors meets or exceeds the project’s contractual requirements.
Duties include
- Review and update the project QA/QC management plan to align with Windlab’s QMS and the Project Principal Requirements/specifications (PPR)
- Review and collaborate with the project team to implement the Quality Management Plan (QMP) workflow processes on Aconex.
- Review contractor QMP’s and ensure alignment with the project QA/QC management plan and PPR.
- Collaborate with Windlab site project engineers, Owner’s engineer, site construction manager and contractors to review all project quality documentation including Inspection Test Reports (ITR’s), Inspection Test Certificates (ITC), Inspection Test Sheets (ITS) etc. and complete Document Review Sheets for return to Contractor/s.
- Interface with the Owner’s Engineer and relevant parties regarding joint site inspections
- Coordinate all quality inspections with Contractors, Subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate all quality site inspections through the site discipline engineers &/ inspectors and perform Site observation of installed works (e.g., concrete, structural steel, process, and mechanical piping, electrical, instrumentation, etc.)
- Co-ordinate and lead the project’s weekly QA/QC site meetings with the projects Contractors and Subcontractors quality assurance personnel.
- Manage and Update QA/QC program requirements and provide weekly QA/QC program updates Collaborate in on-site major equipment/material receipt inspections and ensure receipts are captured within Aconex.
- Verify that all site activities are conducted in accordance with the applicable quality assurance codes and standards.
- Manage all quality observations and nonconformance reports, recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Ensure Project non-conformances (NCRs) are identified, reported and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence of the issue.
- Verify that corrective actions are effective in addressing the issue and that records are maintained.
- Lead, complete, and manage all Site quality control instructions and review remedial actions.
- Coordinate with the project team including owners engineer on all quality issues.
- Manage, track and report on Quality metrics which will show quality trends and Contractor performance.
- Assure all technical documents relative to Site quality control are current status.
- Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for as built and hand over.
- Prepare and maintain the Project Audit Schedule
- Carry out and report audits (internal, supplier and subcontractor) in accordance with the Project Audit Schedule
- Resolve major quality and completion issues.
- Attend and contribute to project reviews.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
- As part of our Graduate Development Programme, you will be required to support and mentor talented graduates, ensuring their growth and success whilst on site.

You will have extensive experience in managing quality and completions on complex projects, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
Additional Skills/Experience
- Experience developing and managing quality systems, plans and processes on large, complex projects.
- Working knowledge of project contract and quality management processes.
- Broach technical knowledge and hands on approach.
- Experience in reading IFC drawings and P&ID’s. SLD’s and other system configuration diagrams.
- Ability to perform ISO9001 System and contractor quality audits.
- Experience in Aconex is advantageous.
- A good understanding of construction standards and the value of an early risk identification and preventative action approach.
