Overview

As the Head of Procurement at Silicon Ranch you will lead and oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with Silicon Ranch’s growth and operational objective. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of agreements, including equipment agreements, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, operational and maintenance (O&M) agreements, as well as other critical commercial contracts and their associated warranty administration. Your strategic leadership will drive cost efficiency, strengthen supply chain resilience, and cultivate critical vendor relationships, ensuring that procurement aligns seamlessly with our business objectives and supports the company’s growth.

Main Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this role is as follows:

• Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute a forward-thinking procurement strategy that aligns Silicon Ranch’s objectives and growth plans.
  • Establish a unified approach to equipment and service procurement, across the entire lifecycle from sourcing to post-contract management.
  • Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with tax requirements, industry regulations, and applicable laws while leading initiatives to address these areas, including efforts to align Silicon Ranch’s long-term strategies with associated market trends.
• Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, mentor and build a high-performing procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and support the Directors of Equipment Purchasing and Contract Management, enabling them to achieve departmental goals and objectives, and advance their teams.
• Operational Oversight
  • Oversee and refine procurement operations including equipment sourcing, contract negotiation, warranty administration, and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality sourcing of equipment and services.
  • Maintain compliance with procurement policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Enhance contract negotiation processes by staying ahead of industry trends to secure favorable contracting results.
• Risk Management and Compliance
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to reduce supply chain disruptions and manage contractual liabilities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to legal, ethical and regulatory standards across all procurement activities.
  • Optimize costs, schedules, and contractual terms to secure the most advantageous agreements for Silicon Ranch.
• Vendor and Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and service providers to secure beneficial terms and foster long-term partnerships including, but not limited to, facilitating regular Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other senior leaders and departments to ensure alignment with company-wide strategies.
• Financial and Performance Metrics
  • Develop and manage procurement budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement within the procurement function.
• Innovation and Process Optimization
  • Champion the adoption of advanced procurement best practices and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that streamline and strengthen procurement efficiency and improve Silicon Ranch’s competitive advantage.
• Other duties as Assigned
  • Support additional procurement, strategic, or operational initiatives as needed to advance Silicon Ranch’s business goals and adapt to evolving industry demands.

The individual will represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and discipline to achieve goals and develop relationships for the Company.

Reporting: This position reports to the SVP of Project Delivery

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

• 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role within renewable energy or related industry.
• Proven experience leading and managing procurement teams in purchasing strategy, contract negotiations, and warranty administration.
• Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple teams effectively.
• Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of supply chain management, procurement best practices, and contracting.
• Familiarity with legal, compliance and regulatory aspects of procurement and contracting in the energy sector.
