Commissioning Engineer - Protection

The Opportunity

Join us in the Protection stream and play a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient commissioning solutions for high-voltage transmission systems. You'll provide technical expertise in relay testing, protection schemes, and fault-finding, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical depth in protection systems and a proven ability to manage commissioning activities across multiple projects. You'll be proactive, collaborative, and comfortable leading technical conversations while supporting field teams and design groups.

This role can be based in any of our Transgrid locations - Eastern Creek, Newcastle, Orange, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga or Yass.

About You

• Electrical trade certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Extensive experience in testing and commissioning protection systems, including relay testing and IEC 61850 schemes
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills in HV environments
• Knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation relevant to the role
• Proficiency in corporate systems and tools such as PRIM, EDMS, and Microsoft Office
