Job Description

Are you looking to join an international company in the renewable energy industry where you can make a difference every day? This is your chance to make an impact on the renewable energy landscape in Lithuania (Baltics) through developing and coordinating our wind- and solar (PV) projects in this market.

European Energy is a growing company within renewable energy. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new team

You will join our engaged and dedicated Project Development team in Lithuania, based in our Vilnius office with more than 20 specialists working on projects across the Baltics. This team is part of a larger Baltic organization of more than 30 colleagues, all focused on developing renewable energy projects in the region.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Lithuania, across the Baltics, and with our headquarters in Copenhagen, as well as team members from other markets.

Your new role

The renewable energy market in the Baltics is entering a new phase, with projects becoming increasingly large and complex, both commercially and technically. To ensure successful project execution according to the highest standards, this requires strong project management, a sophisticated understanding of the project viability criteria and meticulous risk and stakeholder management.

As our new (Senior) Project Manager, you will play a critical role in navigating this complexity. You will be responsible for developing and managing large-scale wind, battery energy storage (BESS) and solar (PV) projects at various stages of maturity in Lithuania and across the Baltics. This includes ensuring timely progression through development, structuring, and construction phases, managing internal and external stakeholders, and bringing projects to the required maturity stage.

The role demands significant focus on strategic planning, commercial justification of projects, market and opportunity analysis, and conceptual project structuring. You will also supervise development and structuring processes across Baltic countries, contributing to building a strong and sustainable pipeline.

How you will make an impact

  • Stay informed on renewable energy legislation and market trends.
  • Lead and manage large-scale renewable energy projects (wind and solar PV) from early development through construction.
  • Ensure smooth transition between project phases: development, structuring, and construction.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, authorities, consultants, and contractors.
  • Oversee permitting processes, environmental assessments, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Coordinate technical, commercial, and legal aspects of project development.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and risk management plans to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive project structuring activities, including financial modelling and securing grid connections.
  • Supervise development activities across Baltic countries, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support negotiations for land acquisition, servitudes, and other agreements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, legal, finance) to optimize project outcomes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning for pipeline growth in Lithuania and the Baltics.
  • Perform market and opportunity analysis to identify new development prospects.
  • Ensure commercial justification of projects and alignment with business objectives.
  • Stay informed on renewable energy legislation and market trends.

Your profile

  • University degree in engineering, business, or related fields.
  • Solid experience in project management of large infrastructure projects, preferably in renewables or construction.
  • Solid knowledge of the Lithuanian project development and permitting process.
  • Proven experience in taking projects through development to RTB and into construction.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects under agreed deadlines and budgets.
  • Familiarity with Baltic regulatory frameworks and permitting processes.
  • Proactive, and collaborative mindset.
  • Fluency in English and Lithuanian.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experienced (or able) to work on Project Management tools.
  • Valid driving license and open to travel (up to 50%).
  • You're self-driven, well-structured, and thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

With us, you get

  • An entrepreneurial and agile approach to your work. In daily life, it means it is not far from thought to action, and when you are given a mandate, we trust in your abilities.
  • A shared vision for the green transition, and what we do as a company, we do together. In a truly international environment.
  • Knowledge sharing is important for us. We start every other Monday with our global weekly morning meeting. Here the executive management and departments give us an update on projects and current focus areas.
  • A collaborative, inclusive, diverse, and supportive culture where you can grow, develop, and contribute to a profitable, growing, and successful global group.
