Job Description

We are looking for a full-time or part-time network engineer to join our team in Dresden as soon as possible.

This is what your day-to-day work with us will look like

• Development of network plans and concepts, with particular emphasis on redundancy, access protection, and the requirements for KRITIS-compliant systems.
• Design, planning, and configuration of VLAN structures for efficient and secure network segmentation.
• Selection and integration of suitable network components (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) in accordance with technical and security-related requirements.
• Configuration and connection of network participants and end devices, including IP addressing, routing, and access controls.
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation on network topologies, components, configurations, and interfaces.
• Contribution to security and redundancy concepts, particularly in the context of projects with heightened security requirements (e.g., KRITIS).
• Close collaboration with IT security, operations, and project teams to ensure holistic network integration.
• Support for the operation and further development of existing network infrastructures, including fault analysis and performance optimization.

What you bring to the table

• A completed vocational training program or degree in network engineering, communications engineering, IT systems electronics, or a comparable qualification.
• In-depth knowledge of network environments, particularly TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and firewalls, as well as a strong technical understanding of network structures.
• Experience in the planning, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of IT network structures.
• Basic Linux skills, particularly in shell programming.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 90% office work / 10% on-site work).
• Fluency in German and English (min. B2 level)
• Strong communication skills, team spirit, and a structured and independent work style.
