Job Description

Ulteig is seeking a highly experienced Program Manager to lead the engineering execution of some of the most complex and strategically important renewable energy projects in our portfolio. This role is intended for seasoned project delivery professionals who have progressed beyond traditional Senior Project Manager responsibilities and are ready to lead large, complex programs involving multiple projects, disciplines, stakeholders, and strategic client initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years of experience delivering utility-scale renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS), although candidates with significant experience managing complex thermal or conventional power generation projects are also encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will oversee the engineering scope for a diverse portfolio of challenging assignments, including renewable energy mega-projects, data center infrastructure, transmission and substation projects, and other large-scale energy projects. This role requires strong expertise in project and program management principles, including financial management, contract administration, risk mitigation, stakeholder engagement, resource planning, and strategic program leadership. Candidates must be capable of leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, managing complex client relationships, and driving successful project delivery while achieving commitments related to quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.

Candidates with degrees in engineering, construction management, or related technical disciplines are strongly preferred. Professional certifications and advanced credentials, such as a PMP, MBA, PE license, or equivalent qualifications, are highly valued and demonstrate the leadership, business acumen, and project delivery expertise expected for this senior-level position.

What You'll Do

Project Management

  • Provide strategic project management leadership for a portfolio of large and complex renewable engineering services projects, with little to no supervision.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Accountable for key project decision-making.
  • Responsible for leading project meetings.
  • Point person for contract negotiation, management, and proposal development.
  • Ensure availability or seek out adequate resources to support the project.
  • Proficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting the consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations to support project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Consistently produces results that meet goals, has high work standards, and understands the business environment and processes.
  • Achieves results by problem-solving, setting priorities and organization.
  • Strives for individual excellence by seeking challenges and self-development, demonstrating high levels of expertise and showing commitment, self-confidence and integrity.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Manages a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Lead overall project, coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation, and negotiation.
  • Coordinate communication and provide status updates, inclusive of escalation to stakeholders as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Controls team to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to plan.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Maintains customer focus to meet or exceed customer expectations and represent Ulteig professionally and courteously.

Project Reporting & Compliance

  • Accountable to develop, update and manage the project plan.
  • Assess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plans.
  • Proactively manages project requests for information and action items.
  • Responsible for leading projects through all internal and external processes.
  • Continuous process improvement driving effective and efficient program initiation, execution, and closeout.

Business Development

  • Work collaboratively with Client Team Leads of select clients to maintain a high level of client service and resolve both project and non-project-related issues.
  • Participate and partner with members of the Business Development team and Project Managers throughout the organization to promote revenue growth and expansion of services with existing and prospective clients.
  • Support proposal efforts by developing, providing resources, and reviewing proposals by working with the Proposal Development Team, Project Management group, and other departments.
  • Maintain positive client relationships with existing clients.

What We Expect from You

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management and/or a Minimum of 10 years of comparable experience.
  • Direct project management experience with utility and/or renewable energy projects, preferably utility scale projects.
  • PMP Certification Preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Project and/or P6 preferred.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).
  • Advance understanding of project finances and expenditures.
  • Expert understanding and effectively use all available contracts and agreements.
  • Ability to mentor less experienced team members in support of their growth and development.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities.
  • Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required.
  • Ability to read and understand construction and procurement contracts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict negotiation/resolution and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be able to travel to project sites as required.
  • Ensure adherence to Safety policies.
  • Ensure adherence to client's Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Report, track, and resolve non-conformance issues in coordination with QA/QC.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $150,000-$195,000
