Job Description

What you will do
Lead the development of onshore wind projects in Germany from early-stage prospecting through to handover for construction and operation. Ensure alignment with company strategy, regulatory compliance, and delivery within budget and timeline, contributing to the successful execution of the business plan.
Main Accountabilities

Project Development & Management
- Manage the full project lifecycle from site identification to Ready to Build status. Support the construction activities until the Project is transferred to the Asset Operations Team.
- Identify and assess suitable locations for wind farm development.
- Negotiate land lease agreements with landowners, if needed.
- Coordinate with TSOs (Transmission System Operators) and DSOs (Distribution System Operators) to secure grid access.
- Oversee and coordinate technical and environmental studies, permitting processes, and stakeholder engagement. Identify and mitigate project risks (technical, regulatory and financial).
- Lead community outreach and stakeholder engagement to build local support and mitigate opposition.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, timelines, and budget targets.
- Manage co-development agreements with our partners.

Stakeholder & Authority Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national authorities.
- Represent the company in permitting discussions and public consultations.
- Ensure transparent communication and alignment with regulatory bodies.

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate internal teams (engineering, construction, procurement, financing, investments and M&A, energy assessment, environment, legal, etc.) as well as external consultants
- Ensure seamless collaborations across all projects' phases to maintain quality and efficiency.

Market Intelligence
- Monitor the German wind energy market, including competitors, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities.
- Identify potential partnerships or acquisition targets to enhance the project pipeline.

Business Plan & Budgeting
- Contribute to the preparation of project budgets, inputs and business cases.
- Monitor financial performance and support investment decisions aligned with Business Unit goals.

Institutional Representation
- Represent the Company in industry forms, fairs, energy associations and with the grid operations.
- Advocate for the company's interests in public and private sector engagements.

What we are looking for

ACADEMIC LEVEL
- University Degree in engineering, environmental sciences, or a related technical field. Other qualifications with relevant development experience will also be considered also.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years of experience in onshore wind development in Germany.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
- Deep understanding of the German wind energy market and permitting landscape.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proactive, autonomous, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience working with GIS.
- Navigate the German EEG auction system (Bundesnetzagentur tenders).
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international and cross-functional team.
