Job Description

As the company is expanding and scaling up globally, we are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and skilled Head of Communications (m/f/x).

As the Head of Communications, you are an expert in all communication channels the company uses. You need to be excellent at reaching out and engaging with media, writing press releases, presenting the company to visiting delegations, securing speaking opportunities and preparing presentations and talking points for our senior spokespeople.

This position would be based at our site in Markranstädt, Leipzig (Germany).

Reporting to our Vice-President of Government Affairs and Strategic Partnerships based in Germany, your tasks will be to:

  • Be the first point of contact for journalists, proactively manage media requests and outreach
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within news, business and industry media
  • Draft press releases and byline articles
  • Engage with customers on joint communication activities and use cases
  • Secure and manage opportunities for public speaking for our senior spokespeople, engage with conferences to maximize exposure
  • Prepare presentations and talking points for our senior spokespeople
  • Develop brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms.
  • Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis

Requirements

You are a great match if you have:

  • You have higher education in communication, journalism, business, international affairs, political science, or related field.
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in communication, journalism or media relations.
  • You have political and business savviness, understand key trends in cleantech, energy, and industrial matters, and Skeleton's business interests. You are fully convinced that communications and PR can decisively contribute to the company's business growth.
  • You can create compelling narratives and translate technical applications to a wider audience.
  • You are able to report on your activities but also work independently. We have a very small team, so you must be able to plan and execute independently as well as with the team.
  • You are a fast learner and have a proactive work style. You can write and speak with confidence, passion, and persuasion.
  • Your English is excellent, and you are fluent in an additional language (German or another European language would be a plus).
