What They Do
Corvus Energy specializes in energy storage systems (ESS) utilizing modular lithium-ion batteries tailored for the maritime industry. Their product lineup includes the Corvus Orca Energy system, which is designed for hybrid applications across more than 250 vessels, and the Corvus Dolphin Energy NXT GEN, which caters to high-capacity all-electric ferries. Additionally, they offer Blue Whale LFP batteries for large-scale offshore applications and Hydrogen PEM fuel cell systems like the Corvus Pelican, developed in collaboration with Toyota to enhance vessel range. These innovative systems integrate advanced battery packs with intelligent energy management, enabling zero-emission or hybrid propulsion in demanding maritime environments, suitable for a variety of vessels including ferries, offshore service vessels, and cruise ships (source: geekwire.com).
Projects & Track Record
Corvus Energy has achieved significant milestones with over 1,300 ESS installations globally, totaling 1,300 MWh of capacity. Notable projects include the deployment of the first Corvus Pelican Fuel cell system on the Norwegian fishing training vessel Skulebas in November 2023. Additionally, they secured a contract for the world's largest all-electric fast ferry by Incat, which will utilize 40 MW of Corvus Dolphin Energy NXT GEN for service between Argentina and Uruguay, awarded in November 2023. Furthermore, they announced the world's first fully electric offshore vessel equipped with 25 MW of Blue Whale LFP batteries in March 2025, enabling full-day zero-emission operations. These projects underscore Corvus Energy's commitment to advancing maritime decarbonization and expanding their footprint in the industry (source: justclimate.com).
