What You'll Do
As Workday Analyst, you will be responsible to liaise and maintain core global ERP platform in supporting Northland Power business objectives. In this role, you will primarily provide technical expertise as it pertains to Workday ERP - Human Capital Management (HCM), Performance, Talent, Workforce, and Payroll and other Workday services, provide business analysis in assessing and designing enterprise application solutions and ensuring standards and best practices are followed. Collaborating closely with Workday team members, internal business partners, and designated vendors and partners, you will be responsible for addressing business demand and support inquiries and ensuring that global business applications in scope are operational within SLAs.
This role will be based in our Toronto Office.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for managing and supporting Workday ERP system, Primarily HCM functions, Benefits, Advance Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Talent, Performance, Succession and Payroll.
- Provide support for other Workday functions, including finance, strategic sourcing and more.
- Collaborate with business functional owners, business superusers and business support vendors to align application solutions with organizational objectives.
- In collaboration with Manager, Enterprise Applications, responsible for planning, designing and development and deployment of Workday solutions, creating reports, dashboard, KPIs, discovery board, workbooks and managing vendor releases, patches, and enhancements to ERP solutions.
- Lead the business requirements gathering process and prepare business requirements documents.
- Provide technical leadership in IT/OT application projects and implementation and work with implementation team and vendors.
- Maintain IT standards throughout SDLC.
- Assist with ongoing systems and process improvement initiatives to ensure efficient data flow is captured and reporting capability/requirements are met.
- Collaborate and support Manager, Enterprise Applications in ensuring that vendors and service providers are delivering quality solutions based on SLAs.
- Develop and maintain all documentation relating to the technical environment including testing and support.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Business or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in implementing and supporting Workday with focus on configuring HR & Payroll modules; and Workday HR/Payroll certifications are a must. Finance module and strategic sourcing module proficiency and understanding system integrations would be an asset.
- 3+ years of experience eliciting business requirements and preparing business requirements documents.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting business application systems, solution development, technical design, system integrations, system configuration and deployment along with end-user requirements and support.
- Strong understanding of human resources principles and HR & Payroll processes.
- Proficiency and experience with implementing all or most of the Workday HCM related modules.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Workday report writing, dashboards, worklets, and KPIs to present workday data to various stakeholders as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft enterprise products and development tools and methodologies.
- Waterfall/Agile/Scrum methodologies, etc. experience with traditional SDLC methodologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework.
- Understanding of SaaS solution implementation approaches, as well as cloud development tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of users and with management.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Self-motivated, team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and quality decision making skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
