Position Title: Senior Equipment Engineer II

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana

The Senior Equipment Engineer II reports to the Senior Principal Equipment Engineer. This advanced role involves taking ownership of the design, development, and strategic optimization of manufacturing equipment in the solar cells factory. The Senior Equipment Engineer II is expected to lead cross-functional initiatives, resolve the most complex technical challenges, and drive innovative solutions to enhance production processes and equipment reliability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Take ownership of troubleshooting and resolving the most complex equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of strategies for preventive and predictive maintenance, ensuring maximum equipment uptime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to lead large-scale equipment projects, including upgrades, installations, and process improvements.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for solar cell production technologies and equipment optimization.
  • Analyze complex equipment performance data, identify trends, and implement innovative solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and learning.
  • Drive safety improvements and ensure all equipment operations comply with regulatory standards.
  • Present detailed reports and recommendations on equipment performance, maintenance strategies, and project outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Support 24/7 operations by addressing critical equipment challenges and providing leadership during tool recovery efforts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, electronic, mechatronic, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in equipment engineering, with a proven track record in Solar Cells, Semiconductors, or Electronics industries.
  • Extensive expertise in solar cell production equipment, including screen printing, PECVD, diffusion, wet benches, and metallization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale equipment projects and implement advanced technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in tools like RCA, SPC, FMEA, DOE, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership and mentoring capabilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel, work extended hours, and support 24/7 factory operations.
