Job Description

Reporting to our Technical Manager, the candidate will provide support to the group HQ and all affiliates who intend to develop photovoltaic (PV) projects in their markets. The role will include:

  • Assist in the commissioning of solar PV plants, including functional testing, system validation, and performance verification.
  • Operate and monitor SCADA systems and Power Plant Controllers to ensure optimal plant performance and compliance with grid requirements.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of MV equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
  • Support on routine inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of plant equipment and systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of commissioning and O&M documentation, including test reports, checklists, and maintenance logs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, HSE, and grid compliance teams to ensure safe and compliant plant operations.
  • Participate in emergency response and fault resolution activities under supervision.

The profile requirements

  • Solid understanding of SCADA and communications systems, PPCs, and solar PV plant architecture.
  • Experience operating or assisting with MV electrical equipment (e.g., switchgear, inverters, transformers).
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and plant control logic.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in field environments and follow strict safety protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data analysis tools.
  • Fluent in English (command of other languages will be considered a plus).
  • Ability to be based in Porto but to travel occasionally to project sites both nationally and internationally.

Furthermore, you could have experience/skills in

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • Previous experience in commissioning or O&M of utility-scale solar PV plants.
  • Knowledge of grid codes and interconnection requirements.
