What They Do

Nordex SE is a leading company in the manufacturing of onshore wind turbines, specializing in turbines of the 3 to 6 MW+ classes. The company offers comprehensive services including development, manufacturing, project management, installation, and maintenance to ensure cost-effective and high-performance energy generation that can be adapted to various geographical and climatic conditions. The core platform Delta4000, introduced in 2017 with the N149/4.0-4.5, now also includes the N163/5.X and N175/6.X models, known for their flexibility in power ratings and rotor sizes (Nordex Products). These products are designed to meet grid requirements and noise limits, offering hub heights of up to 199 meters through in-house hybrid concrete towers that have proven themselves over 15 years.

Projects & Track Record

The Nordex Group has an impressive track record, starting with the installation of their first turbine, the N27/150, in the late 1980s, which is still operational in Hamburg's first wind farm. Notable projects in recent years include a 107 MW repowering project in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, featuring 12 N163/6.X turbines on 164-meter-high hybrid towers, as well as the 77 MW Schneifelhöhe wind farm in Rhineland-Palatinate with 11 N163/6.X turbines (Nordex). These projects demonstrate Nordex's ability to provide tailored solutions for various clients, including Bürgerwind Hollich GmbH & Co. KG and Energieversorgung Mittelrhein.

Recent Developments

In the past two years, Nordex has secured significant contracts, including 409 MW, which were commissioned in Germany in the first half of 2025, representing a market share of 32% with the Delta4000 series. Other orders include 107 MW, 77 MW, and 123 MW in Germany, awarded at the end of 2025 (Nordex). The company has focused on expanding its product range, particularly with the introduction of the N175/6.X, whose series production begins in April 2025.

Working There

Nordex employs over 10,900 people in various roles, including engineers, technicians, and project management professionals. The company culture promotes a decentralized organization aimed at customer proximity and offers training in specialized academies to ensure safety and quality. Employees benefit from flexible career paths in the service sector and comprehensive support throughout the entire lifecycle of the turbines, which extends up to 35 years (Nordex).
