Job Description
FairWind is seeking an experienced and strategic Operational Manager to oversee and optimize daily operations across our UK & Ireland (UKIE) region. This role covers both onshore and offshore activities within our Installation and Service business units.
The Operational Manager will ensure effective coordination, operational excellence, and high performance throughout the entire project lifecycle - from planning and execution to maintenance and customer support. This position plays a key role in driving safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement to support the region's growth.
Your qualifications
- Proven experience in operations management, ideally within the renewable energy, wind, or offshore sector.
- Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, and optimize processes.
- Strong understanding of HSEQ standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-project environments.
Your Role
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage all operational activities across the UKIE region to support seamless delivery across Installation and Service business units.
- Ensure alignment of operational plans with corporate strategy and regional objectives.
Strategic and Project Execution
- Translate strategic goals into actionable operational plans.
- Support project teams to secure timely delivery, scheduling accuracy, cost control, and compliance with HSEQ standards.
- Monitor project performance and resolve operational escalations.
Performance & Compliance
- Develop and track KPIs for safety, quality, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with regional legislation, industry standards, and internal HSEQ procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture and accountability across all teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
- Executive Leadership to support regional strategy and secure resources.
- Project Management on resource planning, scheduling, cost optimization, and client expectations.
- Engineering & Development to support technical innovations and service improvements.
- Sales & Business Development to anticipate market trends, support upselling opportunities, and enable growth readiness.
- HR & Resource Management to coordinate workforce planning, recruitment, and staff development.
- Finance & Procurement on budgeting, forecasting, and securing tools, materials, and equipment.
- HSEQ teams to maintain the highest safety and quality standards.
External Relations
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Represent FairWind at industry events, trade shows, and stakeholder meetings.
- Engage with local communities and authorities to support responsible operations.
