Job Description

Your contribution to the energy transition

As a Cost Controller You can look forward to the following tasks.

You: O&M Cost Controlling

  • Preparation of 3-year O&M budget and continuous forecasting (P&L, Cash Flow).
  • Review and analysis of actuals v budgeted costs.
  • Review and approve weekly project related expenses for payment.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow and liquidity forecast.
  • Liaise with Head of O&M / project manager (s) to forecast expected future costs.
  • Contractual revenue claims, management of timely collections.
  • Timely reporting in terms of local and group requirements, including preparation of reporting packages for external shareholders.
  • Escalate any finance related issue to Finance Manager promptly.

Statutory/regulatory requirement

  • Ensure compliance with statutory / regulatory requirements, including South African Reserve Bank approvals, IFRS / local gaap, tax etc.
  • Collaborate as required during internal and external audit processes.
  • Guarantees / Bonds planning and management (Bank Guarantees, Parent Company Guarantees).
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Other

  • Support the sales department on the preparation of cost / cash flow budget for tenders (O&M and other units as required).
  • Internal Control System: in collaboration with the Finance Manager, ensure controls are maintained or created / adjusted when necessary; periodic monitoring of controls.
  • Assist Finance Manager / Senior Accountant on any other reporting activity that may be required for other business units.

Your energy is required

You impress us with these qualifications:

  • Accounting / Finance Qualification.
  • 3 -5 years' experience in a similar role; or audit background having completed articles will be advantageous.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector or other assimilated sector (i.e., construction or engineering) preferrable.
  • Experience in reporting under IFRS.
  • Advanced skills for Excel and MS Office.
