Job Description
BayWa r.e. Projects Australia is looking for a high‑impact Project Development Manager or a Senior Project Development Manager on a short‑term contract to support to accelerate the delivery of key renewable energy projects. What You Will Do
- Take ownership quickly - support to lead development of wind projects from feasibility through to pre‑execution.
- Advance priority workstreams fast, including land access, approvals, grid strategy and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive due diligence & feasibility assessments, identifying risks and opportunities early.
- Negotiate with landholders and build strong relationships with external partners and regulators.
- Keep the momentum, ensuring milestones are met and project pathways stay on track.
- Lead financial inputs for business cases, budgets and investment documentation.
- Collaborate across APAC and tap into global expertise to solve complex development challenges.
- Model leadership, mentoring team members and fostering a culture of energy, clarity and accountability.
- Champion safety, embedding strong HSE principles across all activities.
What You Bring
- Hands‑on experience developing large‑scale (>200MW) renewable projects in Australia.
- Strong understanding of planning, environmental, grid, and commercial complexities.
- The ability to step in, take charge, and deliver.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Law, or a related field.
- ~7+ years in the renewables sector.
- Willingness to travel and spend time on‑site as needed.
