Job Description
We are looking for a motivated Head of Project Finance to be based in either Milan or Verona, Italy. You will join our dynamic Finance team. Your contribution to the energy transition
As our Head of Project Finance you are responsible for leading all project finance and M&A activities for JUWI Italy, overseeing end-to-end transactions and reporting to the Managing Director of the Italian company. This includes structuring, negotiating, and securing project finance for new-build renewable energy assets, as well as originating, evaluating, and executing M&A transactions (acquisitions, joint ventures, divestments).The role serves as the company's subject-matter expert on financial structuring, bankability, investment modelling, and valuation working closely with Development, EPC, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure optimal capital structure, successful financial close, and high-value strategic transactions.
You can look forward to the following tasks:
- Lead the project finance team in developing financial models and analyses to support investment decisions, financing structures, sensitivities, and bankability assessments for solar, storage, wind and hybrid renewable energy projects
- Lead the entire M&A cycle for both project sale and acquisition opportunities for ready-to-build or operational assets: deal sourcing, valuation, structuring, preparation of investment cases, due diligence, negotiation, and closing
- Negotiate SPA, SHA, JV agreements, earn-outs, option structures, and other transaction documents.
- Drive financial close, coordinating external advisors, banks, and internal stakeholders to meet timelines and requirements
- Support strategic decisions on portfolio optimization, asset rotation strategy, and partnership structuring
- Provide strategic advice on capital structure optimization, refinancing opportunities, and cost of capital improvements
- Organize and conduct the process for financial partner/lender selection, including preparing teasers, Information Memoranda, and participating in the outreach
- Actively engage with prospective counterparties to clarify project valuation, risk allocation, assumptions and market perspectives
- Manage multiple parties including banks, consultants, lawyers as well as internal stakeholders to bring transactions to successful close
- Manage and develop the team by providing clear direction, coaching, and mentorship to support both individual growth and overall team performance
Your energy is required
You impress us with these qualifications:
- Proven track record in project finance for renewable energy assets, including securing senior debt and managing lender processes
- Extensive experience leading M&A transactions end-to-end in renewables or infrastructure
- Advanced proficiency in project finance modelling, DCF valuation, sensitivities, and scenario analysis
- Good understanding of PPA structures, regulatory frameworks, auction mechanisms, and merchant market exposure
- Strong negotiation experience with banks, investors, developers, and advisors
- Executive presence and ability to interact with senior stakeholders and shareholders
- Excellent communication skills in English and Italian (written and spoken)
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex, multi-party transactions
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in project finance, structured finance, or M&A within renewables or infrastructure
- Prior experience at an IPP, investment fund, energy developer or financial advisor is strongly preferred
