WindEurope

Brussels, Belgium

Approximately 600 member companies representing the wind energy sector across more than 50 countries (source: wikipedia.org). Revenue figures are not publicly available as it operates as a non-profit association.

What They Do

WindEurope is a prominent trade association dedicated to advocating for the wind energy industry throughout Europe. Founded in 1982 as the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and later rebranded, WindEurope focuses exclusively on wind power, encompassing both onshore and offshore developments. The organization does not engage in solar, storage, hydrogen, or grid technologies, but instead provides essential advocacy services aimed at influencing policy to support the expansion of wind energy (source: wikipedia.org). It offers intelligence platforms that include historical data and interactive timelines of industry milestones since its inception, organizes major industry conferences, and produces research reports that analyze workforce and economic impacts related to wind energy (source: windeurope.org). The target markets for WindEurope include European governments and economic actors, with its membership comprising manufacturers, component suppliers, research institutes, national wind associations, developers, contractors, electricity providers, finance and insurance firms, and consultants.

Projects & Track Record

WindEurope does not execute projects directly but plays a crucial role in tracking and advocating for the wind industry's progress across Europe. While it does not have specific completed projects under its operation, it highlights significant milestones in the European wind sector through its intelligence platform (source: windeurope.org). The organization maintains a central competitive position by being a founding member of the Global Wind Energy Council, where it influences EU energy policies and drives infrastructure support. Its geographic presence is primarily in Europe, with its headquarters in Brussels, and it influences policies across over 50 countries globally (source: windeurope.org).

Recent Developments

In recent years, WindEurope has been active in releasing reports that highlight the growth and opportunities within the wind energy sector. For instance, on December 15, 2025, it published a report titled "Europe’s wind energy workforce powers ahead - jobs, skills and opportunities for 2030," which focuses on workforce growth in the sector (source: windeurope.org). Additionally, a UK subsidiary, WIND EUROPE LIMITED, updated its registered office on August 7, 2024, although no further details on transactions or major contracts have been documented (source: find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk). WindEurope continues to organize events and engage in policy work to further its mission.

Working There

WindEurope offers a variety of roles primarily focused on policy, research, communications, and collaboration, with hiring occurring mainly at its Brussels headquarters. The organization emphasizes a culture of being an "active and dynamic organisation" that is passionate about climate action, as reflected in staff testimonials that highlight their commitment to making a difference in the clean energy transition (source: windeurope.org). While specific benefits are not detailed, WindEurope promotes "exciting benefits and opportunities" for individuals who are dedicated to its mission of advancing wind energy in Europe.
