Job Description

We are seeking an experienced OT Senior Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects within the Renewables Centre of Excellence, supporting both the CoE and the wider ScottishPower Renewables business. This role plays a central part in ensuring that each project delivers high‑quality outcomes within agreed time, cost and governance parameters, while also securing the long‑term benefits defined in the business case.

What you'll be doing

In this position, you will take ownership of initiating and driving OT projects from concept to completion. You will contribute to the development of business case approval packs and tender exercises, produce robust initiation documentation, shape project plans in partnership with PMO colleagues, and ensure all required reporting is delivered to a consistently high standard. Financial management sits at the heart of the role, with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, cost control and multi‑year financial modelling to maximise project value and minimise investment risk.

You will provide leadership and direction to project teams, creating a culture of accountability, performance and collaboration. By proactively managing risks and issues, developing effective contingency plans, and ensuring efficient use of resources, you will help maintain smooth project delivery. Close engagement with programme management, Digital Transformation, technical leads, change management teams and external suppliers will be essential as you coordinate activity, avoid duplication, support wider business objectives and maintain strong project governance.

The role also involves shaping technical and quality strategies, managing change control, ensuring documentation and reporting completeness, and contributing to lessons‑learned and follow‑on recommendations. You will play an active part in supporting the development of CoE methodologies and longer‑term strategy.

Projects can range from smaller initiatives to large-scale programmes with budgets of up to £10 million, involving both application and hardware delivery, and managing teams of up to 50 internal and external resources alongside multiple third‑party suppliers.

What we're looking for

To succeed, you will bring at least seven years of Project Management experience, ideally within an IT/OT environment, together with programme-level exposure and recognised qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APMP.

You will be comfortable working under pressure, highly motivated, and able to communicate clearly at all levels. Strong financial acumen, people leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder landscapes are essential, as is the ability to bring creative thinking to project risks and challenges.

This opportunity requires experience in managing IT portfolio delivery, budgets up to £5 million and teams of up to ten people. A degree or HND is required, along with a strong results‑driven mindset and the resilience to manage major incidents or disaster recovery scenarios when needed. The role also involves occasional international travel.

If you're ready to lead impactful OT projects at the heart of the renewable energy transition and help shape future digital capabilities, we would love to hear from you.

What's in it for you

As well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we'll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
