As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Construction Safety team with a Projects Safety Consultant at our Scotland Offices
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Purpose of Role
The purpose of the role is to provide technical advice and solutions for onshore and offshore wind, solar, battery and hydro projects both within the UK and global market. You will provide support to clients globally as well as using your experience to drive pro-active health, safety and environmental awareness to project teams and the organisation.
The role is a Project Safety Consultant within the Project Management team in the Construction Department responsible for managing, coordinating and delivering health and safety advice on projects, with a particular emphasis on the CDM Regulations and acting in the role of Principal Designer, or their international equivalent.
You will input, contribute and deliver the following services:
- Leading health & safety management support during pre-planning, pre-construction and construction phase services in connection with UK and wider European and global renewable developments.
- Interacting proactively with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to manage complex and challenging renewable energy projects.
- Construction project safety including the provision of the Principal Designer role in accordance with Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015.
- Assessment of design risk assessments and chairing/recording hazard identification (HAZID) meetings.
- Co-ordinating and preparing Preconstruction Information packs.
- Preparing and submitting statutory notices.
- Co-ordinating the review and compilation of H&S files.
- Supporting due diligence teams with technical HSE expertise.
- Setting the tone for health, safety, and environment, raising awareness, and helping to deliver on objectives.
- Review of HSE related documentation such as Employers Requirements, Construction Phase Plans, HSE plans, RAMS etc.
- Preparation of high-quality reports for both internal and external use.
- Prepare and deliver HSE training to clients and employees.
- Plan, Undertake, Report and Action Health and Safety Audits.
- Conducting detailed investigations of HSE related incidents.
- Prepare and maintain associated tools for Health & Safety services.
- Supporting the construction project management team in maintaining internal systems and processes.
- Administration relating to the projects including management of project budgets, risk registers and action plans.
- Ad hoc assessments and tasks associated with project management as directed by the project team involved.
- Identify and assist in undertaking business development activities for the purpose of successfully growing and developing the project management services within the team
- Hybrid working is available for the role and in addition to working from an office/home, travel to and from construction sites is required.
- You will maintain your CPD and training requirements to complement your workload and project requirements. This includes HSEQ requirements and general site management elements.
This is a PERMANENT role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
