Job Description
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Hitachi Energy plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supplier relationships. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive strategic procurement initiatives and support Hitachi Energy's mission of sustainable energy solutions. The role scope will cover, but not limited to, Middle East and Africa region.
How you'll make an impact
- Formulate and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies aligned with Hitachi Energy's business objectives and sustainability goals.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and process optimization through strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Conduct market research and supplier assessments to identify and qualify potential suppliers, ensuring they meet Hitachi Energy's quality and sustainability standards.
- Evaluate supplier performance and capabilities and establish long-term partnerships with key suppliers.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements in terms of pricing, quality, delivery, and contractual terms.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with Hitachi Energy's policies and legal standards.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, sales, and tendering teams, to understand and address procurement needs.
- Provide expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams in supplier selection, contract management, and procurement of best practices.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, regulatory, and quality-related concerns.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA) or professional certifications in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
- Ten years of Supply Chain-related experience with a proven track record of five years' successful strategic sourcing experience, preferably within the energy or engineering sector
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to influence and build productive relationships.
- Proficiency in procurement tools, contract management.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, demonstrate initiative, and drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles, strategic sourcing methodologies, and market analysis.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
