Job Description
We're looking for an Accountant to help us run a slick & efficient support function in Financial Control for our electric vehicle leasing business.
You will be working within the accounting team and wider finance team to assist with day-to-day financial management and importantly in the identification and implementation of process improvements.
Your role will include the preparation of monthly reconciliations for Octopus EV, reporting on variances as required and working with the team, the wider company and funders to rectify variances.
You will be working closely with the business to assist with day-to-day financial management and identifying any commercial risks or opportunities to improve the business' financial controls and internal processes.
We need someone that has a great eye for detail, is self-driven to own accounts and processes, is able to automate processes using large data sets and assist with other improvements as the business grows.
What you'll do
- Performance of reconciliations and timely resolution of highlighted variances
- Month end reporting, including journals and financial analysis
- Tracking and reporting on vehicles purchased on a weekly basis, with business stakeholder
- Work closely with our Finance Operations team to resolve reconciliation issues
- Manage creditor and debtor ledgers and deal with any queries regarding payments or receipts
- Assist with audit and tax queries Identify and drive the implementation of new processes and process improvements
What you'll need
- Experience working in a Finance team
- Experience using accounting software and data tools
- Qualified Accountant preferred (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Minimum 3 years experience in finance or accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proactive attitude towards your work
- Thrives in a scale-up, high-transaction environment with evolving needs
- Experience with the following would be beneficial but not essential: Experience with Netsuite accounting package, Financial services experience
