Job Description

Are you ready to take the next step in your engineering career-growing your technical influence, shaping product direction, and helping set new standards for innovation?

We're looking for a Senior Specialist in Mechanical Engineering to join our Bionic Solutions team, where you'll guide advanced busbar concepts through the maturation phase and help unlock higher energy density for tomorrow's energy systems.

If you're passionate about technical excellence and eager to increase your impact, this role offers the opportunity to lead, inspire, and make your mark.

Highlights of the offer

  • Type of work: Hybrid
  • Role: Individual Contributor / Specialist
  • Location: Europe, Denmark, Ikast

Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute expertise throughout the full development cycle-from ideation to design, verification, and beyond:

  • Set technical direction for maturing bionic busbar concepts with a strong focus on increasing energy density.
  • Carry out mechanical design and simulation work, ensuring concepts meet performance, integration, and manufacturability goals.
  • Coordinate design verification, simulation, and testing together with project teams.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, providing clear and thoughtful mechanical input in cross‑functional project teams.
  • Engage with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure feasible and scalable solutions.
  • Drive design process improvements, contributing to best practices and the evolution of our mechanical engineering toolkit.
  • Support the development of colleagues, sharing knowledge generously within the mechanical engineering community.

This is a great opportunity for someone stepping into higher responsibility-whether that means deepening technical leadership, influencing product direction, or becoming a go‑to specialist in your field.

Our requirements

We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or related fields.

You will thrive in this role if you have:

  • Proven experience working with product development in R&D and familiar with relevant project management and product development framework
  • Practical working knowledge with 3D design and visualization tools (e.g., SolidWorks) especially in your earlier career
  • A solid understanding of materials and mechanical production processes
  • Experience with design verification and numerical simulations
  • Experience with welding and aluminium is a plus
  • The ability to engage effectively with suppliers, cross‑functional teams, and stakeholders
  • A B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

If you feel you meet most-but not all-criteria, we encourage you to apply. We value curiosity, growth mindset, and practical problem-solving just as much as specific experience.

Why Work With Us

  • A workplace where your ideas and voice truly matter
  • The chance to grow your technical authority and leadership
  • A culture that values collaboration, inclusion, and knowledge‑sharing
  • Support for your career development and continuous learning
  • A team that believes diverse perspectives create stronger engineering solutions
