Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytically strong Junior Trading / Research Analyst to join our Trading Analyst team in Gurgaon. This role is ideal for a recent graduate with strong analytical capabilities and international exposure who is keen to build a career in trading, market analysis, and strategic research.
You will work closely with senior analysts and the Trading team to support market research, trading strategy development, and commercial decision-making across global environmental markets, including the U.S., Canada, Europe, and South Africa.
This is a high-visibility role offering exposure to global trading activity and the opportunity to contribute directly to commercial outcomes.
Who You Are
- A recent graduate (Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field).
- Strong analytical thinker with high attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with data, models, and structured problem-solving.
- International exposure through study or work abroad preferred.
- Naturally curious about global markets, regulation, and trading dynamics.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
Responsibilities
1. Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative research on global environmental commodity markets.
- Analyze regulatory developments, policy changes, and market trends affecting trading strategies.
- Develop supply-demand balance models and price outlook analysis.
2. Trading & Strategy Support
- Support senior analysts in identifying trading opportunities and strategic positioning.
- Assist in preparing trading strategy notes and market commentary.
- Translate research insights into actionable commercial recommendations.
3. Reporting & Modeling
- Build and maintain analytical models in Excel and Python.
- Prepare structured market reports, presentations, and internal strategy documents.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of data used in analysis.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with commercial, risk, and operations teams to support execution of strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to division-wide discussions and planning.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of research experience in environmental commodities.
- Education: University degree or higher; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- International Exposure: Demonstrated international (abroad) experience through study or work.
- Analytical Skills: Very strong aptitude for qualitative research, critical thinking & problem solving with excellent analytical capabilities.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; native fluency in English (both written and oral).
- Mindset: A self-starter with a keen interest in learning and an entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, contributing to strategic discussions and initiatives.
- Responsibility: Ability to take responsibility & deliver the assigned projects on time with high quality results & data-driven solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, data analysis, structured reporting)
- Knowledge in Python is an added advantage
