Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Cloud Ops to join the Power Factors Cloud Engineering & Operations team to ensure the cloud infrastructure is running properly, efficiently, and securely. In this role, we are looking for someone who can instantly step into the team and be a senior contributor in our engineering and operational areas of our cloud team. As a leading SaaS provider to the renewable energies industry, our applications must be secure, highly available, and scalable with our customers' growing demands.

Regarding the cloud infrastructure, Power Factors works with AWS, GCP, and Azure across its product portfolio. The cloud team works to ensure all infrastructure is created and run in accordance with best practices to ensure cost governance, security, and high availability. Within these cloud environments, Power Factors SaaS products are tested, deployed, and operated. These products are both single tenant and multitenant and employ microservices architectures using a combination of open-source technologies and cloud-specific ones.

The Cloud Engineering & Operations team is responsible for the foundational resources and environments used by the rest of Power Factors - including networks, backups, infrastructure as code, and shared resources used across various development teams, such as Kubernetes clusters and monitoring tools. With these responsibilities, the cloud team often works closely with development, architecture, and information security teams to ensure the cloud environments run in a secure and efficient manner.

  • Monitoring / Observability stack - Working thru Design and upgrades to ensure platform stability and resiliency.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders, such as developers, engineers, managers, and customers, to ensure the cloud services are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Work with development teams to ensure high availability and uptime of SaaS applications

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of cloud experience with multiple cloud providers ideally including AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with Monitoring stack technologies
  • Knowledge in cloud networking, security, compliance, and governance
  • Desire to automate and code all cloud infrastructure, CICD pipelines and IAC
  • Exposure working with supporting microservices-based cloud applications utilizing open source software such as Kubernetes, Cassandra, Kafka, and PostgreSQL
