We are now looking for a Fullstack Developer who can help us continuously improve Volue's ability to provide value to customers in line with the Volue mission.
What you will be doing to make a difference
As a Fullstack Developer on the BoFiT team, you will:
- Work in an agile DevOps team on our BoFiT optimisation solution
- Write clean, testable and maintainable code, along with the corresponding technical documentation
- Contribute to the maintenance and evolution of a mature optimisation solution
- Extend existing functionality and support the team in evolving the architecture
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects and domain experts as part of an agile team
What you need to succeed
Required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Around 1-2 years of experience with object-oriented programming
- Knowledge of C++ and willingness to work across multiple languages (Java, C#)
- Experience with at least one common IDE (e.g. Eclipse, Visual Studio, IntelliJ)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket or GitHub)
- Basic understanding of SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Oracle)
- Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- A proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of quality
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to collaborate across teams, locations and cultures
- A customer-oriented mindset
Nice to have
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot) and prompt engineering for code generation, debugging and documentation
- Experience with Java front-end development
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python)
- Understanding of API design and communication patterns (REST, message queues)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Web front-end development skills (React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Persistence and curiosity when working with complex systems and large, mature codebases
- German language skills
