The department
You will be joining European Energy Romania, currently consisting of 5 colleagues working from our office in Bucharest. We are a committed and motivated team where knowledge sharing, trust, and open dialogues describe the very core of our collaboration. You will also be part of the larger global Finance department with a total of 135 colleagues across various teams, such as Accounting, Controlling, Group Controlling, TAX, and Group Budgeting & Internal Reporting.
The Finance department is responsible for financial management, planning and reporting, including bookkeeping, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance. Every quarter the Finance department publishes a financial report.
Your new team
You will join a newly build Romanian Finance team which will consist of Accountants and Controllers, all located in Bucharest. The Romanian Finance team is responsible for the Romanian companies and ensures compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements towards company regulation, tax, VAT, bookkeeping, filings, timeliness, and HR administration.
The team will work closely with the Accounting and Controlling teams in the Headquarters in Denmark.
As our new Accountant, you will support the Finance Manager building up the Finance Organisation. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including coordinating tasks and topics with Accountants and Financial Controllers, and provide business support to other departments in European Energy. Moreover, you will have contact with external stakeholders such as the Romanian authorities and local tax advisors.
Key Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the Accounting of Romanian companies in the European Energy Group
- You will manage daily bookkeeping and bank payments
- You reconcile financial accounts
- You contribute to period end tasks
- You take care of VAT, tax, and other local filings in collaboration with external advisors
- You collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments and at all levels as well as external auditors
- You will support the setup of new companies, including bank account setup and tax registrations
- You build and optimize tasks and processes
Your Profile
- You have several years of experience in accounting and finance from a similar position
- You hold a degree in Accounting or Finance
- You have profound skills in accounting, Romanian VAT and compliance
- You have good analytical skills and put effort into delivering timely and accurately in high quality
- You have a thorough and structured approach to your work
- You have full professional proficiency in Romanian and English
- You are experienced with Excel, Business Central, and Invoice workflow
