Your New Team
You will be part of European Energy UK Limited, which consists of 15 colleagues working primarily from our office in Glasgow. You will also work closely with our wider team at our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, specifically the European Energy EPC Department.

Your New Role
As our new Grid Connections Manager, you will play an important role in the delivery of solar (PV) projects in the UK. Working closely with other Grid Connections Managers and the EPC Team, you will assist with the delivery of grid connections for renewable energy projects (primarily solar) from supporting development stages through to Final Investment Decision (FID), then through to engineering, procurement, and construction to commercial operations and handover to asset management.
You will work with internal departments (primarily EPC), contractors, consultants, partners, and stakeholders to maintain the highest quality standards, to deliver connections projects safely, on time, and on budget.
Areas of Responsibilities
- Delivery of new grid connections for renewable energy projects (primarily solar PV) in the UK with key responsibilities for the management of ICP's, DNO's, consultants, and other contractors.
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, consultants, contractors, project managers, and the risk team, to maintain the highest standards of H&S, Quality, and grid code compliance on the project.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing and populating project tools, including programmes, risk registers, requests for information, assumptions & issues registers, design decisions logs, and design risk registers.
- Act as an authority within the project team and provide advice on all matters related to grid connections, including standards, best practices, timescales, and trusted contractors.
- Support the development team in reviewing new grid sites and supporting grid offers to develop the future pipeline. To align with CMP 434 submissions and ensure the project meets NESO CP30 targets.
- Undertake design reviews and review commissioning documentation to ensure compliance with grid codes, standards, legislation, and best practice. To review grid compliance studies, including P28 & G5/5, and feed into EE internal stakeholders.
- Negotiate, coordinate, and maintain strong relationships with relevant distribution network operators & transmission system operators, utilities, and regulatory authorities to secure grid connection agreements, permits, and outages.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to grid connections and provide recommendations for solutions.
- Conduct site visits prior to and during construction to monitor progress, identify risks, and meet contractors / other project stakeholders.
- To stay up to date with current regulatory changes and input into Grid Connection Manager team discussions on supporting documentation for the wider EE group.
Your Profile
- You have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or an equivalent level of qualification obtained through a vocational route.
- You have experience across the project lifecycle, including design phases, working in cross-functional teams, delivering to timescales, and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- You have experience in the UK construction industry and possess knowledge of engineering standards and UK Health and Safety legislation.
- You have experience managing grid connection projects during the design, tendering, and construction phases, typically involving connections between 33???kV and 132???kV.
- You have a solid understanding of the UK electricity industry, its structure, and the stakeholders involved.
- You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
- You are willing to travel throughout the UK (primarily) and to Denmark (occasionally).
- You hold a valid driving licence.
- You can work remotely and independently and are self???motivated within a supportive and collaborative company.
- A valid right to work in the United Kingdom is required.
