Notable projects supported by the parent company include the Ventilus project in Flanders, which selected a route in March 2023 for offshore wind integration, and the Rimière project, which invested €41.6 million in 2023 for new power plant capacity by 2025 (source: investor.eliagroup.eu). EGI is also involved in studies for interconnections like Nemo with the UK, and has key clients such as the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), for which it conducted a study on green hydrogen integration in 2023.
Recent Developments
In 2023, Elia Grid International completed a crucial study for EETC on green hydrogen projects, analyzing a 7.5% equity participation or network fees to support the use of the national grid by renewable energy-powered electrolysis producers (source: cbinsights.com). Elia Group announced its results for the year 2023 on March 6, 2024, reporting investments in the grid of €2,397.2 million and a regulatory asset base of €12.2 billion (source: investor.eliagroup.eu).
