Job Description
Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall's Onshore and Offshore Wind, as well as other non-hydro renewable initiatives like PV/Solar and batteries. We currently develop, construct and operate wind generation assets across Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our solar PV and battery operations further.
The Contract Management department within the Project Delivery and Engineering function of BU Offshore Wind in Vattenfall, is responsible for overseeing contract execution of all our major CAPEX supply agreements for our offshore wind projects. The department has a close collaboration with our procurement functions to support contract drafting and negotiations during tendering processes, and thereafter to take contract ownership. In addition, the department has responsibility for claims management.
Your responsibilities
- Proactive management of contracts to ensure a full alignment of the project team to meet the given contractual obligations of both parties as well as on the commercial alignment of work progress with the defined project budget.
- Ability to draft, lead negotiations and participate across major CAPEX supply agreement tender processes in alignment with package managers and procurement function.
- Lead the package in variation requests and/or notices from/towards a contractor (key interfaces are the Package Manager, CPD, Procurement and Legal).
- Ensure that contractual variations and changes or claims with regard to the scope of delivery and services, prices, timeline or other contractual agreements are enforced and kept up-to-date.
- Monitors and reports contract performance to the Project Management Team. In cooperation with the Package Manager, drafts claim related correspondence, e.g. instructions, determinations, notices, variation orders and employer's claims.
- Supports with early and holistic preparation and documentation of dispute readiness documentation.
- Supports the Procurement Manager, Package Manager, Commercial Project Director and Project Director with the contractual arrangements, management and award of contracts.
- Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of package budget, including adjustments to the contract values during execution.

Your profile
- Graduate degree in a commercial subject, legal, engineering or equivalent with relevant commercial work experience in large scale project tendering and execution.
- Commercial contract management experience gained in complex roles including joint ventures and/or large capital projects, in offshore wind or similar.
- Extensive knowledge of FIDIC and LOGIC contracts, legal and commercial contract terms.
- Strong commercial contract and negotiation experience / skills.
- Working experience and proven track record of delivering capital projects and the ability to interpret contractual and claim management topics.
- Good understanding of construction terminology, progress calculation methods, programmes of work and project timelines.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to consolidate a large amount of information and to present the information in a clear and structured format.
- Demonstrable experience of effective interaction with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a team and to build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders incl. contractors to support information exchange.
