We are looking for a project developer to be based in either Milan and Verona, Italy. You will join a formidable project development team, driving around 85 megawatts (MW) of successfully authorized projects and around 700 megawatts (MW) in the pipeline under development. Your contribution to the energy transition

As our Senior Project Development Manager - Origination you are responsible for coordinating early stage development activities for renewable energy projects, ensuring technical accuracy and regulatory compliance from the first project phases.The role focuses on reviewing, validating, and managing documentation prepared by external design firms, as well as leading preliminary interactions with public authorities, grid operators, and other institutional stakeholders.

The Project Manager actively contributes to risk assessment, technical due diligence, and workflow coordination during the origination phase.

You can look forward to the following tasks:

Management of External Designers and Technical Documentation

  • Review and validate all technical documents produced by external engineering firms, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
  • Verify that preliminary layouts, civil works concepts, electrical designs, and permitting drawings comply with regulatory requirements and project constraints.
  • Coordinate revisions and ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs required for origination and early permitting activities.
  • Ensure consistency between technical documents, environmental studies, and grid connection requirements.

Preliminary Interface with Authorities and Stakeholders

  • Lead early-stage interactions with municipalities, regional authorities, environmental bodies, and grid operators to assess project feasibility.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for preliminary consultations, screenings, and pre application meetings.
  • Coordinate local engagement activities with landowners, community representatives, and relevant territorial stakeholders to foster transparency, address early concerns, and strengthen project acceptance at the local level.
  • Ensure that all local requirements, sensitivities, and constraints are correctly incorporated into the project's technical and permitting approach.

Origination & Feasibility Assessment

  • Assess site feasibility based on environmental, technical, regulatory, and grid constraints.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (land development, permitting, engineering, legal, grid) to ensure alignment of assumptions, design criteria, and project strategy.
  • Identify critical path items and support risk mitigation activities.

Project Coordination & Timeline Management

  • Maintain the project schedule for origination activities, coordinating deliverables from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that technical documentation aligns with permitting milestones and overall development timeline.
  • Support the preparation of internal documentation for investment decisions and stage gate reviews.
  • Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare clear and structured reports summarizing progress, risks, and next steps for internal management.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory frameworks, ESG guidelines, and HSE standards.

Your energy is required

You impress us with these qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Energy, Environmental, Civil, Electrical), Urban Planning, or related technical or scientific disciplines.
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in project development within the renewable energy sector, with a strong focus on permitting and regulatory processes.
  • Proven experience in managing permitting procedures for utility-scale PV projects, including PAS, VIA, and AU applications.
  • Solid understanding of national and regional regulatory frameworks, environmental impact assessments, and urban planning processes.
  • Experience in coordinating with public authorities, municipalities, grid operators, and external consultants.
  • Familiarity with grid connection procedures and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Strong project management skills, including risk monitoring, milestone tracking, and internal reporting.
  • Knowledge of ESG and HSE standards and their integration into development activities.
