Job Description
Elia Grid International (EGI) is a global power systems consultancy driving innovation and excellence across the global energy sector. Building on the expertise of Elia Group (Belgium) and 50Hertz (Germany), EGI delivers strategic, technical, and regulatory advisory services to tackle complex challenges of the energy transition.
With offices in Belgium, Germany, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Canada, and the USA, EGI partners with clients across the globe to deliver high-impact projects in power system planning, smart grids design & digitalization, asset management, HVDC, FACTS, and renewable integration.

Typical activities involve (but are not limited to):
- Analysis and definition of planning principles;
- Power System Model definition and validation;
- Enhancing of methodologies to plan power systems facing massive RES & BESS integration, demand evolution and optimization of transmission investments;
- Mastering links with technico-economic models to define critical operating points;
- Steady-state analysis (load flow, short circuit calculations, hosting capacity, etc);
- Dynamic stability analysis (frequency, transient & voltage stability..);
- Support the analysis and evaluation of grid reliability and security (eg capacity calculation, balancing, operational planning..);
- Writing reports presenting results of the analysis;
- Interacting with client's and convincing them on the proposed solutions and development plans;
- Supervising power system team and their contribution in the project;
- Managing consultancy services projects;
- Support the company's business development teams in identifying and pursuing opportunities by establishing trusted relationships with our clients and developing of proposals.
Your responsibilities will be decided based on your competencies and expertise and will be discussed during your interviews with managers.
Your profile
- Master's degree in Engineering;
- 10+ years of experience in Power System Planning (Master planning, pre-feasibility of new transmission investments, RES system integration, BESS optimization, sizing state-of-the-art technological solutions,...);
- Expertise in translating complex data into key strategic insights and valuable actions;
- Mastering power system simulation tools (PowerFactory, PSSE)
- Knowledge Power System economics basics
- Team Player
- Good oral presentation skills and Ability to interact with international clients
- Fluent in English;
- Knowledge of Arabic is a strong asset.
