Job Description

ORE Catapult is the UK's flagship innovation centre for offshore renewable energy - driving innovation for a better world powered by affordable, abundant clean energy. With a mission to enable Clean Energy 2030, we accelerate the growth of UK companies in offshore renewables, fuel clean economic growth, and support the UK's journey to net zero.

We're looking for a full time PMO Analyst to join our Professional Services team.

The PMO Analyst supports the effective governance and reporting of the Portfolio Management Office by ensuring portfolio processes, controls, and reporting cycles are maintained.

The role ensures compliance with governance standards and supports the Senior PMO Analyst in the creation of portfolio level reporting. You will be accountable for monitoring progress of the portfolio of projects and communicate deviations to the project team.

Supporting the creation and maintenance of a portfolio RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log, promoting a culture of proactive risk identification and mitigation.

What will you do?

  • Ensure compliance with stage gate and reporting processes
  • Support preparation and coordination for portfolio governance forums
  • Track actions, decisions, and follow-ups from governance meetings
  • Collect and consolidate project status reports
  • Work with the senior analyst to develop Power BI reporting, following training if required.
  • Work with the Senior PMO Analyst to implement and maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) at portfolio level
  • Work with the planning team to monitor milestone adherence and escalate exceptions
  • Support monthly reporting cycles and assurance activities
  • Act as a point of contact for PMO processes and standards
  • Support Project and Programme Managers with templates and compliance, providing training and guidance
  • Facilitate communication across portfolio stakeholders

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in a PMO analyst or coordination role
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of portfolio governance and project lifecycle
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

Desirable:

  • Power BI knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with PPM tools

Qualifications:

  • Introductory level Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PFQ or Prince2 Foundation) would be advantageous.

  • The ability to maintain a strong degree of focus on the task/s in hand and work to deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Adheres to processes and regulations
  • The ability to work with a range of stakeholders including delivery managers, technical teams, external customers
