We are seeking a Senior Load Engineer with extensive knowledge in wind turbine loads, integrated load analysis (ILA), and turbine-foundation interaction to join the Civil & Structures team within RWE Offshore Wind. The team supports all project stages-from early development through design, certification, construction, and operations-and provides technical leadership across offshore foundation systems and structural analysis.

In this role, you will oversee the load analysis process, manage technical interfaces with OEMs and designers, and help develop best‑practice methodologies that ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective offshore wind assets

About the role

  • Manage turbine load analysis and technical delivery for offshore projects.
  • Manage the Integrated Load Analysis (ILA) process with turbine suppliers and substructure designers.
  • Review and validate turbine load calculations and OEM documentation.
  • Perform in-house load simulations using DNV Bladed, including model setup, execution, verification, and interpretation.
  • Support loads-related certification and technical interface activities.
  • Assess turbine lifetime extension opportunities and load-reduction strategies.
  • Contribute to site-suitability assessments and turbine lifetime evaluations.
  • Manage technical reviews, develop internal standards, and mentor junior engineers.

Job experience and requirements

  • Degree in civil, structural, mechanical, aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
  • Solid understanding of wind turbine design and turbine-substructure interaction, ideally offshore.
  • Extensive experience with turbine load simulations and ILA processes.
  • Knowledge of structural/loads engineering standards (IEC, DNV) and verification practices.
  • Experience managing technical interfaces within international projects.
  • Effective communication, organisational skills, and appreciation of HSSE principles.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent, with experience in DNV Bladed API, offshore structural behaviour, turbine-foundation dynamics, and offshore wind quality, procurement, or installation/operations.
