Job Description

The role is part of the SSC Record-to-Report (R2R) Department within Finance, which is responsible for the end-to-end process of collecting, processing, and delivering accurate financial data for reporting and compliance. The department oversees key activities such as general ledger accounting, fixed assets, intercompany, cash, revenue, cost and inventory accounting.

It is expected that this role will work closely with Finance Controllers, Group Tax, and other SSC Finance Operations team (AP/AR), Payroll & Treasury, and Business Finance in Headquarters or Regions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute medium to complex month-end, quarter-end, and year-end finance and accounting closing activities in full compliance with group accounting policies/controls and performance targets (SLAs, KPIs, OPIs)
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making and meet the needs of key stakeholders
  • Communicate potential and identified issues and their updates or help needed to the relevant stakeholders as an input for pre-close meetings, and ensure follow-through until resolution with speed and quality
  • Resolve accounting issues promptly and escalate complex matters of the month-end close to ensure timely resolution
  • Identify and implement process improvements within assigned processes and ensure timely, high-quality updates of standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accountancy/ finance/ business management or related area. Certifications such as CPA, CMA, MBA, CIA, RCA, CTT, etc
  • At least 2-4 years of relevant working experience in finance, particularly general ledger accounting, or any equivalent finance functions. An auditing background from Big 4 accounting firms is desired but not required. Working experience in shared services or outsourcing organizations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Practical experience with ERP systems, SAP and SAP-BI
  • Working experience in shared services set-up or with other cultures is beneficial

Competencies

  • Basic to advanced working knowledge of accounting principles, and able to apply them to day-to-day operations
  • Good communication skills, particularly in the English language, both oral and written. Ability to deliver insights and analytics
  • Possess problem-solving skills relevant to the role and able to address and follow through on issues until resolution
  • Exhibits initiative, curiosity, growth mindset, simplicity, and a willingness to learn
