Summary
The Field Service Technician II - Solar Battery Energy Storage System will be integral in supporting senior technicians with the operation and maintenance of large-scale solar facilities. Your role will include executing preventative and corrective maintenance on crucial assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters, directly contributing to the success of impactful renewable energy projects.
Responsibilities
- Follow direction from senior site personnel and set a positive example for junior technicians.
- Troubleshoot low voltage DC and low/medium voltage AC power systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems to maximize performance.
- Effectively use hand and electrical tools while ensuring a safe work environment.
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and reporting.
- Efficiently manage inventory of spare parts and consumables.
- Adhere to site safety protocols and execute proper Lock-out/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
- Engage professionally with project stakeholders and subcontractors.
- Represent the company with integrity while driving company vehicles in compliance with laws and policies.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with company expectations.
- Uphold the Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Foster a safety and quality-oriented mindset among the team.
Safety
- Comply with safety and security protocols while assessing the best course of action.
- Prioritize safety in all work aspects and reinforce compliance among team members.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and practices, ensuring proper material and equipment usage.
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) before beginning work tasks.
- Receive specific training before job assignments to maintain robust safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED required; Associate's degree in a related technical field preferred.
- OSHA 10/30 certification is advantageous.
- FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot certification is preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in relevant fields required.
- Basic knowledge of high voltage electrical power systems and components.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, OSHA regulations, job hazard analysis, and equipment operation (skid-steer, forklift, etc.).
- Effective use of electrical tools such as multimeters and IR cameras is essential.
- Geographical flexibility is necessary, residing within a 60-mile radius of major airports such as Denver, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, or Atlanta.
- Willingness to travel domestically 76-100% of the time is required.
- A valid Driver's License is a must.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range is $28.09 - $35.11, with final compensation dependent on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
