Job Description
The HSE Manager will be responsible for overseeing the environmental, social, health and safety performance of the organisation, including regional areas. The HSE Manager will examine corporate activities to establish where improvements can be made and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and international standards across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- To act as OHSE representative, ensuring all activities align with PEAK ENERGY OHS MS, contractual and local regulatory obligations of DOLE OSH rules.
- Monitor contractor OHSE performance and escalate non-compliance issues.
- Participate in OHSE committee meetings and provide OHSE updates.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and verify compliance.
- To review and improve contractor project OHSE plans, method statements and risk assessments.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Ensure adherence to environmental permits and local regulations.
- Monitor waste management & disposal, pollution control, and site sustainability practices.
- Support implementation of the Environmental Social Management Plan (ESMP) and community grievance redressal in line with local regulations.
- Ensure contractors conduct appropriate OHSE training and toolbox talks, mock drills.
- Verify that emergency response plans are in place and valid.
- Conduct and maintain detailed records of audits, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions on a regular basis.
- Ensure all documentation is completed phase-wise prior to project start to handover, considering regulatory review.
Skills and Competencies
- Prepare & share OHS, ESG reports in time.
- Expertise in solar-specific OHSE risks: electrical shocks, arc flash, heat stress, working at height.
- Solar PV and BESS projects experience is an advantage not mandatory.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and cross-functional work abilities to manage DG & UPP projects OHSE requirements.
- Willingness to be assigned onsite by project basis if requested by management.
Reporting and Coordination
- The position shall report functionally to the Regional EHS Manager and operationally to the Country Technical Director to ensure effective implementation of project OHSE requirements.
- The position shall coordinate closely with project management, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, PEAK ENERGY standards, and Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) commitments.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, or other related field.
- Relevant experience of 10 years with minimum 3 years in relevant role such as HSE officer / Coordinator in a construction site preferably Renewable / Power Plant / Electrical Projects.
- Must have valid First Aid, HIRAC, COSH training + LCM (Loss Control Management) for SO3 accredited by DOLE.
