Job Description

Welcome to the land where data meets technology! In your role as data engineer, you will get to work first-hand on building and managing the data infrastructure that is at the heart of many of our energy- and trading processes. Building on your experience as a data engineer and your can-do attitude, you will not only be responsible for setting up data ingestion processes, ensuring data quality, and defining robust data models, but you will also be directly involved in shaping and transforming our data landscape. If you have a knack for data analysis and a passion for developing innovative data solutions, we want you!

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Gather, write, and understand business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain new or existing data flows.
  • Analyze, understand, and optimize data engineering processes.
  • Ensure good documentation and quality practices in development, changes, and issue resolution.
  • Solve issues, perform root cause analysis, and manage problems.
  • Develop APIs or interfaces for data consumers.
  • Lead and mentor junior data engineers.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Data Engineering.
  • Over 5 years of experience with Python in data engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools.
  • Full knowledge of REST APIs and SOAP.
  • Proficiency in relational databases.
  • 5+ years of experience with the software development lifecycle (development, deployment, and maintenance).
  • Debugging skills and issue diagnostics expertise.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (e.g. Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with Apache Airflow is valuable.
  • Familiarity with the energy industry/market (strong plus).
  • Analytical and abstract thinking for systematic problem-solving.
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
  • Full fluency in English (C1 level) is mandatory.
  • Good understanding of Spanish is a plus.
