Job Description

About the role
You will lead change initiatives resulting from business growth and transformation programmes, ensuring that Finance Operations services are ready to support new ways of working. This role combines process improvement, system change and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working at pace in a complex environment.
They will manage the change process required to ensure future developments in other business areas affecting Global Business Services UK Finance Operations activities are successfully implemented. This includes various SAP modules such as Real Estate, NAMS, Concur and Treasury system. Any future business changes which involve an impact on Finance Operations processes, require to be assessed, planned and supported ensuring the appropriate process is implemented.
The role additionally includes the Ownership & Maintenance of the Quality Management System.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the optimisation of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, ensuring they are efficient, standardised, well‑controlled, and aligned with business objectives.
- Identify improvement opportunities through data analysis, workflow reviews, and stakeholder feedback, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable benefits in accuracy, speed, and compliance.
- Monitor AP and AR performance metrics, including invoice cycle times, payment accuracy and aged debt.
- Provide regular reporting and insights to Global Business Services leadership teams, highlighting trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Engage across the Global Business Services Finance Operations & People teams both in the UK & Globally to assess process pain points and support adoption of new ways of working.
- Lead change‑management activity, ensuring communication, training, and successful embedding of new processes across Finance and operational teams.
- Champion automation opportunities, including reduction of manual tasks and implementation of digital solutions that improve speed and data accuracy.
- Investigate recurring AP and AR issues, analysing underlying causes such as master data quality, system errors, supplier issues, or customer behaviours.
- Implement sustainable corrective actions, ensuring improvements prevent recurrence and enhance customer and supplier experience.
- Work in partnership with the Global Business Services UK systems team and Global Business Services global teams to develop functional specifications and evaluate technology solutions, leading them through to functional implementation
- Lead multi-skilled project teams, with resources from across the Global Business Services UK Finance Operations function to develop and implement improvement opportunities, using well-developed stakeholder management skills to deliver successful initiatives
- Lead solutions through to implementation, including but not limited to; testing support, user training, communications and evaluation
- Develop relationships across the wider SP and Iberdrola Group, leveraging opportunities to share ideas and influence processes and decision making that impact the Global Business Services UK Finance Operations function and wider SP Group and collaborating to solve shared issues
Key skills & Experience
- Business Degree/Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience in the areas of Accounts Payable & Receivable, Finance or Accounting.
- Experience in leading and delivering significant change projects, preferably those that include process improvement, systems and technology
- Expert in problem solving and proven experience creating and implementing innovative solutions that improve customer experience/efficiency
- Ability to analyse data and develop insights, using well-developed communication skills to present recommendations
- Experience of implementing & maintenance of Quality Management System, specifically relating to ISO 9001.
- Well-developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and positively influence at all levels
- Knowledge of policies, rules and procedures applicable to Iberdrola Groups Finance Operations.
- Ability to manage supplier/customer expectations and resolve conflict.
- Effective planning and resource management skills.
- Commercially aware, self-motivated individual
- Change management: skills and experience in project management activities, organizational change and knowledge of methods and techniques for the implementation of projects, new processes or procedures
Minimum Criteria
- Expert in problem solving and process design
- Proven project management experience
- In-depth knowledge of Accounts Payable & Receivable processes and policies
- In-depth knowledge of Finance Operations systems and technology
- Highly developed analytical skills
