The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Critical Systems / Data Center team and play a supporting role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative mechanical design solutions for some of the most exciting and high-profile projects in the Data Centre and Critical Systems fields, both in the India, APAC and internationally.

As part of our established team of expert engineers, and working closely with colleagues of various disciplines, you will prepare both scheme and detailed designs from feasibility and concept through to detailed engineering design, and site support.

You will also have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop and work closely with colleagues of various disciplines to manage the delivery of technically excellent, profitable projects, and will be supported towards chartership in future.

You will support and be supported by senior staff within the team.

The Skills

Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng, BEng, or equivalent) and having gained Minimum 6 experience in a Mechanical Engineering designer role within a Data Centre/ Critical Systems and Building Services HVAC industry context. Candidate should have experience in working with Consultancy firm for minimum four (4) years into HVAC designing as a compulsory requirement.

You have proven ability in delivering creative design solutions, preparing specifications and project reports, carrying out site inspections and surveys, and crucially - you have a passion for creative and intuitive design.

Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills in English and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.

  • Throrough Knowledge in HVAC design, System sizing, calculation and basic knowledge to work on PHE & Firefighting inline to local authority requirements, and infrastructure requirements (local experience is essential).
  • Prior work experience and understanding of CAD, NAVIS, REVIT/BIM delivery.
  • Given the collaborative and client-focused nature of this role, excellent communication and project management skills are essential.
  • Experience tin to local codes & standards of Mechanical Design with statutory regulations.

You have proven ability in producing low energy, creative design solutions, preparing specifications and project reports, carrying out site inspections and surveys, and detail design development and crucially - you have a passion for creative and intuitive design.

Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, excellent communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.

Knowledge of:

  • Thermodynamics.
  • Psychrometrics.
  • Basic electrical systems.
  • Mechanical cooling and ventilation systems and schematics.
  • Schematics of chilled water system, ventilation system.
  • Heat load, Ventilation, Pump head, Static Pressure, System sizing Calculations & Standards of relevant systems.
  • Knowledge of System operating procedure of HVAC systems.
  • Basics of Cross discipline.
  • Strong organisational and communicative skills are required.
  • Ability to establish smooth working relationships and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
  • Candidate should be able to travel to the site locations across the region if required.
  • Candidate must be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects in a team or independent environment.
