About the role

The AGL Cyber Security team is seeking a Cyber Business Partner to act as the primary point of contact for a broad range of cybersecurity services and issues within the Customer Markets business unit. This role serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, including members of the Executive Team, within the assigned BU.

The position involves close collaboration with business leaders, technology partners, and cybersecurity teams to proactively reduce cyber risk across both the business unit and AGL Energy overall. The Cyber Business Partner is responsible for building strong, effective relationships to ensure cybersecurity considerations are embedded into business initiatives throughout their full lifecycle. The role also plays a key part in enhancing cyber-related reporting, governance, and service level management within the assigned BU.

Please note: this is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover parental leave.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the business unit, technologies, customers, partners, systems, processes, and data.
  • Engage actively with the BU to achieve objectives through security program representation, auditing support, and communication during security incidents.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, technology leaders, and the cybersecurity team to reduce the cyber risk posture for their business unit.
  • Align closely with business initiatives to minimize tech/security debt and ensure new initiatives reduce cyber risk.
  • Take a pragmatic approach to balance cyber risk with AGL and business risk appetite.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on cyber risks, trends, challenges, and opportunities for business partners.
  • Regularly report on cybersecurity status across the BU.

About you

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Utilize analytical and strategic thinking to advance AGL's cybersecurity.
  • Degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a relevant business unit field.
  • Relevant field experience and strong facilitation skills for cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders across various functions and levels.
  • Collaborative skills to support the implementation of cybersecurity solutions nationwide.
