Job Description

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer (m/f/d) who is in charge of consulting in all geotechnical matters for a large offshore grid connection project.

The position is 60% remote and 40% on-site in Berlin. Occasional travel abroad (e.g., Dubai) may be required.

Tasks may include:

  • Planning and controlling of package scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and HSE.
  • Consulting different packages by offering technical expertise in geotechnical-related tasks, including site ground investigations.
  • Review and evaluation contractor-provided work method statements related to geotechnical operations and works.
  • Monitor and witness geotechnical work performed by third parties; performance field data analysis and interpretation assessment data; verification against specified requirements, document observations, and report non-conformities to the responsible parties.
  • Preparation of regular status reports.
  • Reporting to and coordination with package management.
  • Developing concepts and tender documents for services to relevant work packages.
  • Conduct technical review and evaluation of proposals/offers and participation in negotiations for relevant work packages.
  • Collaboration with structural engineers on foundation design integration.
  • Consultation in the analysis of soil-structure interaction for offshore foundations.
  • Consultation and provision geotechnical expertise during the certification and permit application for offshore platform projects.

Requirements & Your Expertise

  • Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of documented experience in relevant field with detailed knowledge of industry standard survey technologies such as drilling, CPTs, laboratory testing of soil samples.
  • Very good knowledge of English (Level C1).
