Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, encompassing the full industrial value chain - from Technology, Procurement, and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality. VTO's mission is to transform the way Vestas engineers, sources, contracts, manufactures, and delivers its products to consistently meet high standards for quality, cost efficiency, and time-to-market. To ensure alignment with regional business goals, VTO operates through the Product Line organization composed of Regional Engineering & Technology teams led by Regional CTOs and Global Functional Leads. This organization is responsible for managing technical front-end activities within regional business units, including areas such as Technical Development Solutions, Sustainable Energy Solutions, Onshore and Offshore Wind Power Plant Solutions and Services.
As a Specialist Global Support Structure Excellence, you will be reporting to the Head of Global Support Structure. This global function is responsible for implementing strategic initiatives and ensuring consistent practices across Vestas' offshore support structure engineering teams worldwide. In addition, the function is responsible for executing the detailed support structure load analysis for all offshore Vestas projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted expert and advisor within the field of offshore support structure load analysis and design
- Providing guidance and support to the global & regional engineering teams
- Identify market trends and project requirements to define and implement standard processes, roles, and responsibilities that enhance efficiency across global and regional offshore support structure teams
- Formulate and maintain a strategic vision and long-term roadmap for the Global Offshore Support Structure Solutions function in alignment with organizational goals
- Initiate initiatives to improve methodologies and develop engineering tools that support a harmonized and consistent approach to offshore support structure design and analysis across regions
- Evaluate and document optimization levers for tower and foundation design to enhance project value, while effectively managing technical and commercial risks
- Design and implement structured training programs and development plans to support onboarding, upskilling and continuous professional growth within the global and regional offshore support structure community
- Serve as a key technical link between central engineering teams and regional offshore support structure engineers
- Being a knowledgeable lighthouse within offshore support structure load analysis guiding and supporting the global support structure loads team
- Contribute to the development and deployment of tools, templates, and processes to standardize offshore support structure practices across regions
Qualifications
- Master's / PhD degree Mechanical / Mechatronics / Structural / Aerospace / Aeronautical / similar engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in techno-commercial front-end roles, specifically within offshore loads and support structure design
- Prior experience in the wind energy sector
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
