We are looking for experienced Wind Turbine Technicians to join our Maintenance, Commissioning and Evaluation (MCE) team or to work as Trouble Shooters.
As a FairWind Wind Turbine Technician, you will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, and fault resolution on GE wind turbines.
This role involves performing retrofits, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities, strictly following FairWind safety protocols. You will work under FairWind supervision and in close collaboration with GE technical support, ensuring high levels of turbine reliability and availability.
Your qualifications
- GE Platform Fundamentals: Successful completion of GE base platform training, including 1.x, 2.x, PMG, DFIG, Sierra, and Cypress.
- Electrical and Hydraulic Schematics: Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics for diagnostic purposes.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Collaboration with senior technicians and GE technical support to resolve complex issues across turbine systems (e.g. hydraulics, pitch, drivetrain, converter, yaw).
Your Role
Routine Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform regular inspections, corrective repairs, and preventive maintenance on GE wind turbines, ensuring maximum efficiency and safety.
Fault Diagnosis and Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control system issues using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
Component Replacement and Upgrades
- Replace faulty components, carry out upgrades, and ensure all turbine components operate under optimal conditions.
Team Leadership
- Lead small troubleshooting teams and collaborate with senior technicians on daily tasks when required.
Activity Logging and Control
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and operational faults.
- Document all interventions in accordance with company procedures.
Safety and Compliance Safety Protocols
- Strictly comply with all safety procedures and protocols, including continuous and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Environmental and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, company standards, and safety protocols at all work sites.
Lockout / Isolation Procedures
- Correctly identify isolation points on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and fully understand safe isolation procedures (Hot-Cold-Hot)
Reporting and Documentation
- Accurate Records: Maintain up-to-date and accurate records, including LOTO, PDRs, tailboards, and equipment inspections.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on turbine defects, maintenance activities, and safety incidents to FairWind and customer management teams.
- Clear Communication: Ensure clear and effective communication with site management and FairWind teams to support smooth operations
