Wärtsilä Energy's Engine Power Plant Lifecycle Management team is seeking an Agreement Manager to deliver existing and new agreements while helping to drive business growth in the United States. Reporting to the Country Agreement Manager for the Energy Business and primarily based in Houston (though other locations may be considered), this hybrid role involves regular travel to customer sites and Wärtsilä offices.

The Agreement Manager will oversee assigned accounts, focusing on delivering contractual obligations with strong customer support, upselling opportunities, agreement renewals, and the full lifecycle of EPP installations. Key responsibilities include managing financial, operational, and technical performance; identifying customer challenges and implementing corrective measures; and safeguarding customer investments by proactively controlling risks and improving profitability. Close collaboration with EPP stakeholder teams is necessary to ensure a smooth transition from project delivery to ongoing lifecycle support.

This position blends account management, commercial strategy, and technical expertise to serve customers, drive sales, expand contracts, and maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary advisor for key customers, ensuring efficient, profitable, and reliable site operations.
  • Collaborate with customer's and Wartsila's operations teams to monitor and address site performance issues.
  • Conduct regular service reviews to discuss system performance and optimization opportunities.
  • Identify and secure upsell and cross-sell opportunities within long-term agreements.
  • Support negotiations for renewals and expansions, ensuring agreements meet customer needs.
  • Develop tailored service and performance packages to enhance customer operations.
  • Ensure successful commercial and overall performance of assigned agreements.
  • Collaborate with technical and service teams to ensure optimal performance of EPP systems.
  • Manage risks and opportunities to improve site uptime and efficiency.
  • Develop a growth strategy that aligns customer needs with our advanced service offerings.
  • Work with sales and product teams to introduce new solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required for this role with preference given to engineering, but scientific or business qualifications may be considered. Candidates must have at least five (5) years of experience in sales, account management and/or contract management, preferably in the energy generation industry or maritime sectors, but other industries will be considered.
  • Ability to translate technical insights into business value for customers.
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills, with a track record of growing revenue and ensuring customer success.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Passion for Wartsila products and a commitment to sustainability.
  • Strongly preferred experience with performance guarantees, service agreements, and operational KPIs.
  • Solid knowledge of legal and contractual laws governing projects would be an advantage.
