Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior procurement team in end-to-end procurement execution: including sourcing, quotation comparison, negotiation, order issuance, delivery follow-up for electrical systems, mechanical components, tower parts, auxiliary materials and engineering services.
- Utilize electrical/mechanical knowledge to review technical datasheets, specifications, product standards and compatibility requirements of related materials which need be procured, ensure purchased items meet project design & operational specifications.
- Support supplier management work: collect supplier information, maintain supplier contact list, assist in supplier data sorting and preliminary evaluation.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, QHSE, ED and finance teams to align procurement demand, resolve technical mismatch, delivery delay and on-site material issues in a timely manner.
- Undertake short-term on-site support at wind farm locations: incoming material inspection, supplier site verification, and urgent procurement coordination for construction/O&M progress.
- Assist in monitoring market price trends of related procurement materials and services, support the implementation of daily procurement cost control measures.
- Maintain complete procurement documents, comply with company policies, South African labour & trade regulations, and renewable energy project management standards.
- Complete and file procurement-related documents (purchase orders, contracts, delivery notes, etc.) to ensure standardized and complete procurement records.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines
- Work Experience: Around 2+ years of relevant work experience in procurement, supply chain, engineering support or related fields; experience in wind energy, construction or engineering industry is a plus, not mandatory
- Technical Knowledge: Basic professional knowledge of Electrical or Mechanical engineering, able to understand simple engineering drawings, product technical descriptions and material specifications
- Core Skills: Basic communication and coordination skills, careful and detail-oriented, strong learning ability and teamwork spirit; proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Essential Requirements: Possess a valid South African driver's license and ability to drive independently; willing to travel to local wind farm project sites for short-term business trips
- Language: Fluent in written and spoken English
- Soft Skills: Responsible, proactive, able to complete assigned tasks efficiently, and adapt to flexible project site work needs
