In your new position as Mechanical Engineer in the Renewables Division, you will be a valuable member of the dedicated Mechanical Team whose mission is to contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical systems for offshore substations. Your tasks & responsibilities
In this role, you will primarily work on EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) contracts for offshore substation projects. As a mechanical engineer, your responsibilities include designing mechanical systems, with a primary focus on emergency/backup power diesel generators and fuel systems for offshore substations.
Your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Design, Engineering & System Integration: Develop mechanical designs and engineering deliverables in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration with electrical, structural, and control systems.
- Compliance, HSE & Quality Assurance: Ensure full compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulatory requirements, while supporting and adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards in all activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation, Procurement & Testing: Prepare and manage specifications, drawings, technical documentation, and procurement packages; oversee and sign off FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests).
- Cost, Hours & Execution Control: Manage cost, hours, and quality for the mechanical scope within assigned projects, ensuring efficient and reliable execution.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Continuous Improvement: Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders; support tenders, troubleshooting, and technical clarifications; facilitate workshops and contribute to concept optimisation, lessons learned, and engineering standards development.
Your profile & qualifications
This role covers multi-disciplinary systems (e.g. diesel generator and fuel systems) and requires close collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and control disciplines.
We are looking for an outgoing and positive professional who is passionate about renewable energy and wants to leave their personal mark on it.
To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a similar relevant discipline.
- Experience from EPC/EPCI project execution, preferably in complex or large-scale engineering projects.
- Experience with diesel generator systems and/or offshore projects, ideally within energy or marine environments.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as DNV, IEC, and ISO.
- Professional communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
- A strong focus on quality and safety, demonstrated through attention to detail and adherence to HSE requirements.
