Position Summary

We are seeking a Sourcing Manager with a strong background in direct sourcing team supervision. The purpose of this position is to lead, develop and enable a professional team of sourcing specialists who are responsible for the sourcing of the company's materials. This position is responsible for overseeing daily sourcing activities within the group and ensuring internal customer satisfaction in meeting the company's Solar panels efficiency, capital improvement, maintenance, and operational excellence needs. This position provides guidance and direction to the professional staff in supporting internal business teams in multiple states and jurisdictions in areas such as cost-effective service, optimized delivery of shared services, business technical specification and process standardization efforts, effective supplier engagement and contract coordination.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain operations from the sourcing team.
  • Work closely with Legal, engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to understand material requirements and ensure that procurement strategies support production needs and product quality.
  • Manage/source the new supplier development program and maintain current supplier commercial communication to assure the production needs and requirement.
  • Utilize negotiation and accountability skills to build effective vendor relationships.
  • Manage tracking for the new supplier program cost and timing, organize regular management reviews to ensure the program within budget and launching on time.
  • Support cost reduction and other business improvement initiatives.
  • Create request for quotation (RFQ); Meet with vendors and select vendors based on price, service and ability to meet production needs.
  • Process purchase requisitions from internal departments and ensure proper approvals have been given prior to placing items on order.
  • Identify and communicate issues arising from the supply of materials and services with both the vendor and internal material team.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and analyze vendor and supplier performance to ensure quality and delivery requirements are met.
  • Manage supplier relationships and update management on any issues with vendors.
  • Perform new vender & material cost evaluation for management review.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions. Stay informed about market changes and supply chain dynamics that may impact procurement activities.
  • Maintain awareness of use of SAP (ERP system).
  • All other duties and projects as assigned by Management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in business administration, Supply Chain Management or an acceptable combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
  • 3-5 years' work experience in an administrative capacity of sourcing, purchasing or supply chain.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, confidentially, diplomatically, and professionally always.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams
  • CPSM certification or equivalent program.
  • Experience managing raw materials procurement especially chemicals and gases.
  • Knowledge of contract law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues.
